Who's Right?

Mrs. Gearhart and Mrs. Harris were both trying to solve this problem.

8 + 4 x 3 ÷ 6

Mrs. Gearhart thinks the answer is 6.  Mrs. Harris believes the answer is 10.  Who do you think is correct?  What mistake was made with the incorrect answer?  Write your response in complete sentences.  Write your names, or initials, at the end of the post so we can discuss later in class.

Volume is the number of cubic within a space.  What is the total number of cubic units in this shape?  How did you figure it out?
